These roles in the msdb database are as follows.<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>SQLAgentUserRole<\/li>\n<li>SQLAgentReaderRole<\/li>\n<li>SQLAgentOperatorRole<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>But when you grant these privileges to a login, it can changes something you don&#8217;t want to change. You can find details of these roles in the msdb database in the article &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/index.php\/2019\/03\/09\/sql-server-agent-fixed-database-roles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SQL Server Agent Fixed Database Roles<\/a>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes you may need to grant authority to run only one job. In this case, you can create a stored procedure with the help of the following script, and you can meet your needs by granting the execute privilege on this stored procedure.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true\">use msdb\nGO\ncreate procedure dbo.execute_job\nwith execute as owner\nas\nexec sp_start_job @job_name = 'MyJob'<\/pre>\n<p>In order to grant execute stored procedure privilege to the login, we first grant public privilege in the msdb database. You can find details in the article &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/index.php\/2018\/08\/28\/how-to-create-a-login-on-sql-servermanage-logins\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">How To Create a Login On SQL Server(Manage Logins)<\/a>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>Then right-click the stored procedure that we created in the msdb database and click Properties.<\/p>\n<p id=\"MjrfqmJ\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"520\" height=\"826\" class=\"size-full wp-image-10262  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/img_5c84dbba20a2d.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then go to the permission tab. Click Search and Browse to select the relevant login and click ok.
