Some words in the Oracle database are reserved for specific use or fully. In this way, it is intended to eliminate possible typographical errors in SQL statements.<\/p>\n
You can find out what the reserved words are and whether they are reserved for a specific purpose or completely reserved, from the V$RESERVED_WORDS view.<\/p>\n
For example, the word TABLE is a reserved word. We cannot use this word in information such as table name or column name. If used, we will receive errors as follows.<\/p>\n
SQL> create table TABLE (\r\n2 name varchar(100),\r\n3 surname varchar(100),\r\n4 phone number(5)\r\n);\r\ncreate table TABLE\r\n*\r\nERROR at line 1:\r\nORA-00903: invalid table name\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nSQL> create table a (\r\ntable varchar(100),\r\nsize number(2)); \r\ntable varchar(100),\r\n*\r\nERROR at line 2:\r\nORA-00904: : invalid identifier<\/pre>\nBut if we need to use it, there is also a method. It is possible to use reserved words in double quotes.<\/p>\n
As in the following examples, we can use reserved words in object names.<\/p>\n
SQL> create table \"TABLE\" (\r\nname varchar(100),\r\nsurname varchar(100),\r\nphone number(5)); 2 3 4\r\n\r\nTable created.\r\n\r\nSQL> create table a (\r\n\"table\" varchar(100),\r\nsize number(2)); 2 3\r\n\r\nTable created.<\/pre>\n\n<\/div>\n
