First we need to connect to Kibana and create an Index pattern. For more information about Kibana and Elasticsearch, go to the Analytics &amp;&amp; BI-&gt; ELK tab in the menu.<\/p>\n<p>After connecting to Kibana to create index pattern, we click on Index Patterns from Management as below.<\/p>\n<p id=\"nyaXnYL\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-12835  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/img_5d37187587725.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"712\" height=\"606\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then we click Create index pattern from the screen that appears.<\/p>\n<p id=\"fZcdhps\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"734\" class=\"size-full wp-image-12836  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/img_5d37189226833.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the section marked in the screenshot below, we write the name of our index and click Next Step.<\/p>\n<p id=\"RtMQAti\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-12837  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/img_5d3718c8980b5.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"707\" height=\"277\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We need to select a date field on the next screen. If there is no date field in the data, we can select @ timestamp as follows. We will then be able to filter by date based on the area we selected here.<\/p>\n<p id=\"hOsXabx\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-12838  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/img_5d3718ed0efdb.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"742\" height=\"311\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After creating index pattern, click on Visualize tab to create dashboard. Then click on the + sign you see in the screenshot below.<\/p>\n<p id=\"FgomDBu\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-12839  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/img_5d37193892339.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"777\" height=\"169\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On the next screen we select a visualization type for the dashboard. We chose Pie in our example. You can create different dashboards by selecting other visualization types.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ELhZPFd\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-12840  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/img_5d37195a2b616.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"711\" height=\"293\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We select our index from the next screen.<\/p>\n<p>We see a screen like the following. You can change the date in the upper right corner. I chose it as Last 5 years.<\/p>\n<p>In the Split Slices tab;<\/p>\n<p>We select Terms from the Aggregation section.<\/p>\n<p>We choose Gender from the field part. Because we want to show male and female rate in pie chart.<\/p>\n<p id=\"wkrzBrD\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-12841  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/img_5d3719ad160ea.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"723\" height=\"350\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the Options tab, click Show Labels to display the labels.
