The table &#8216;AdventureWorks2014_new.Sales.SalesOrderDetail&#8217; is partitioned while index &#8216;AK_SalesOrderDetail_rowguid&#8217; is not partitioned.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You can find details about the Partition Switch in the article titled &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/dbtut.com\/index.php\/2018\/08\/19\/sliding-window-switch-partition-split-range-merge-range\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sliding Window-Switch Partition-Split Range-Merge Range<\/a>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>To include the indexes into the partition (align operation), right click on the index specified in the error and click properties.<\/p>\n<p>From the Storage section, click on the Partition scheme and select the options as shown below and click on the script to get the script of the changes we made and cancel.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/426.png\" width=\"651\" height=\"235\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Here is a script like this:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true\">USE [AdventureWorks2014_new]\r\nGO\r\nCREATE UNIQUE NONCLUSTERED INDEX [AK_SalesOrderDetail_rowguid] ON [Sales].[SalesOrderDetail]\r\n(\r\n[rowguid] ASC\r\n)WITH (PAD_INDEX = OFF, STATISTICS_NORECOMPUTE = OFF, SORT_IN_TEMPDB = OFF, IGNORE_DUP_KEY = OFF,\r\nDROP_EXISTING = ON, ONLINE = OFF, ALLOW_ROW_LOCKS = ON, ALLOW_PAGE_LOCKS = ON) \r\nON [PartFunc]([CarrierTrackingNumber])\r\nGO\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As you can see in the script, it re-creates the index on the corresponding partition schema.<\/p>\n<p>You can change OFF to on ON in the scripts &#8220;ONLINE = OFF&#8221;
