databases<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Prerequisites:<\/h3>\n<p>RDS Instances with enough free space<br \/>\nEC2 Instance to perform export-import- May be referred as a Jump Instance<\/p>\n<p>Note: All the expdp\/impdp commands and sql connections to be triggered from EC2 instance<\/p>\n<h3><strong><u>Database Link Creation<\/u><\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Create a database link on Source DB<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Command<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \" title=\"db link syntax\">create database link &lt;dblink_name&gt; connect to &lt;username&gt; identified by &lt;password&gt; using '&lt;tns entry of RDS instance';<\/pre>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Note: the above link must be created in source RDS Database<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Schema backup<br \/>\n<\/u><\/strong>Take the backup of the both the target and source schema.<\/p>\n<p>Command:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true\" title=\"expdp syntax\">expdp parfile=username\/password@database_name\r\n\r\nschemas=&lt;schema_name&gt; directory= 'DATA_PUMP_DIR' dumpfile=dumpfile.dmp logfile=logfile.log<\/pre>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Where Database_name is the TNS entry for source\/target database.<\/p>\n<p>This dump file will be transferred from source to target and used in import.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Use DBMS_FILE_TRANSFER to place the exported dump file to an Amazon RDS DB instance<\/p>\n<p>Command:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true\" title=\"Procedure\">SQL&gt;\u00a0 BEGIN\r\n\r\nDBMS_FILE_TRANSFER.PUT_FILE(\r\n\r\nsource_directory_object\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 =&gt;
