{"id":27540,"date":"2022-02-13T09:43:32","date_gmt":"2022-02-13T09:43:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/?p=27540"},"modified":"2022-02-13T09:43:32","modified_gmt":"2022-02-13T09:43:32","slug":"install-oracle-12c-client-on-centos-7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/index.php\/2022\/02\/13\/install-oracle-12c-client-on-centos-7\/","title":{"rendered":"Install Oracle 12c Client On Centos 7"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In today&#8217;s article, I will explain how to install Oracle 12c Client on Centos 7.<\/p>\n<p>We do the following package installations.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">sudo yum install wget -y\r\nwget http:\/\/mirror.centos.org\/centos\/7\/os\/x86_64\/Packages\/libaio-devel-0.3.109-13.el7.x86_64.rpm\r\nyum install libaio-devel-0.3.109\u201313.el7.x86_64.rpm -y<\/pre>\n<p>We create the Oracle user.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">passwd oracle<\/pre>\n<p>We check the &#8220;\/etc\/selinux\/config&#8221; file and check if SELINUX is as follows.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">SELINUX=permissive<\/pre>\n<p>After completing the above process, we reboot the machine and run the following command.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">setenforce Permissive<\/pre>\n<p>We disable the firewall.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">systemctl stop firewalld\r\nsystemctl disable firewalld<\/pre>\n<p>We create the directories where the oracle client will be installed and grant the oracle user the necessary privileges.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">mkdir -p \/u01\/app\/oracle\/product\/12.1.0\/client_1\r\nchown -R oracle:oinstall \/u01\r\nchmod -R 775 \/u01<\/pre>\n<p>We log in as root and enter the following command.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">xhost +&lt;machine-name&gt;<\/pre>\n<p>We set the following information into the .bash_profile.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \"># Oracle Settings\r\nexport ORACLE_BASE=\/u01\/app\/oracle\r\nexport ORACLE_HOME=$ORACLE_BASE\/product\/client\/11.2.0\/client_1\r\nexport PATH=\/usr\/sbin:\/usr\/local\/bin:$PATH\r\nexport PATH=$ORACLE_HOME\/bin:$PATH\r\nexport LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME\/lib:\/lib:\/usr\/lib<\/pre>\n<p>After changing the content of the .bash_profile, we run the following command.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">. .bash_profile<\/pre>\n<p>We login to the Oracle user and set the DISPLAY variable.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">DISPLAY=&lt;machine-name&gt;:0.0; export DISPLAY<\/pre>\n<p>We go to the $ORACLE_HOME directory and unzip the downloaded Oracle client software. After the unzip process is finished, we run the .\/runInstaller command and start the software.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">cd $ORACLE_HOME\r\nunzip -oq \/path\/to\/software\/V46097\u201301.zip\r\n.\/runInstaller<\/pre>\n<p>After the installation starts, we will see the following screen. We select the Administrator option and continue.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/miro.medium.com\/max\/875\/1*fQHm2SMGibRcT7f-Ik9Iig.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We choose the language and continue.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/miro.medium.com\/max\/875\/1*kmb7pAJdioCw27sgT4wIyw.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Since we defined .bash_profile directories before, directories come by default. We continue unaltered.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/miro.medium.com\/max\/875\/1*PUlXqQLW6r4km-zydYwK4w.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The directory will come by default. We continue unaltered.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/miro.medium.com\/max\/875\/1*UIWLwm-9YfYefzhIhLMvGw.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The summary section contains information about the client. We start the installation by clicking Install.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/miro.medium.com\/max\/875\/1*UyJPcnb-HiVT_OB_RYTSpQ.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>While the installation is in progress, when the following screen comes up, we copy the command and run it in the root user.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">\/u01\/app\/oraInventory\/orainstRoot.sh<\/pre>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/miro.medium.com\/max\/858\/1*gIis39qJYNw6YFjxIt78qA.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-align: center;\">After successfully completing the Oracle Client installation, we click the Close button and close it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/miro.medium.com\/max\/875\/1*ZqFnUn5H0PT0rLAqOoHXTw.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After the installation is finished, we create the tnsnames.ora file.
