Since PostgreSQL 13 version is realese recently, I wanted to install it on Centos 7 and try it.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to take a look at some of the new features before proceeding with the PostgreSQL installation, you can refer to my article named PostgreSQL 13 What&#8217;s New.<\/p>\n<p>First, we download the postgresql 13 repo as follows.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">yum install -y https:\/\/download.postgresql.org\/pub\/repos\/yum\/reporpms\/EL-7-x86_64\/pgdg-redhat-repo-latest.noarch.rpm<\/pre>\n<p>After successfully downloading our repo, we install all the packages with the help of the following command so that there is no problem when we install an extension or install any module.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">yum install postgresql13-server postgresql13 postgresql13-devel postgresql13-libs -y<\/pre>\n<p>If you get an error like the following while installing. You can use the article named llvm-toolset-7 installation.<\/p>\n<p><code>Error: Package: postgresql13-devel-13.0-1PGDG.rhel7.x86_64 (pgdg13)<\/code><br \/>\n<code>Requires: llvm-toolset-7-clang &gt;= 4.0.1<\/code><br \/>\n<code>You could try using \u2013skip-broken to work around the problem\u00a0<\/code><\/p>\n<p>After our service is installed, with the help of the following command, we ensure that the files required for our cluster are installed in the default directory with the help of the following command. If you want to install the cluster files in a different directory, you can use the PostgreSQL 11 Installation article.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">\/usr\/pgsql-13\/bin\/postgresql-13-setup initdb<\/pre>\n<p>Our cluster files are initialized to the default directory.
