You can get full backup, incremental backup, differantial backup with this tool. You can restore from these backups or simply restore the missing files.<\/p>\n<p>After briefly explaining what pgBackrest is, we can start the installation. First, we install pgBacgrest.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">[root@testdb ~]#yum -y install pgbackrest<\/pre>\n<h5>Repository Creation:<\/h5>\n<p>The repository is where pgBackRest stores backups and archives WAL segments.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">[root@testdb ~]#mkdir -p \/pg_backup\/pgbackrest\r\n[root@testdb ~]#chmod 750 \/pg_backup\/pgbackrest\r\n[root@testdb ~]#chown postgres:postgres \/pg_backup\/pgbackrest<\/pre>\n<h5>Archiving Configuration:<\/h5>\n<p>To put the database in archive mode, we write the following parameters into the postgresql.conf file.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">archive_mode = on\r\narchive_command = \u2018pgbackrest --stanza=demo archive-push %p\u2019<\/pre>\n<p>We restart the postgresql service so that the change we made can be active.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">[root@testdb ~]#systemctl restart postgresql-13<\/pre>\n<h5>Backup<\/h5>\n<p>If we are going to backup on the same server, we configure pgBackrest as follows.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">$ vi \/etc\/pgbackrest.conf\r\n[global]\r\nrepo-path=\/pg_backup\/pgbackrest\/\r\nbackup-user=postgres\r\nretention-full=2\r\nretention-diff=2\r\nprocess-max=3\r\nlog-path=\/pg_backup\/log\/pgbackrest\r\n[demo]\r\npg1-path=\/var\/lib\/pgsql\/13\/data\/<\/pre>\n<p>If a backup will be made to a different server, we will configure both the master server and the server that we will backup.<\/p>\n<p>The pgBacrest configuration to be done on the master server:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">$vi \/etc\/pgbackrest.conf\r\n[global]\r\nrepo1-host=&lt;backup-sunucu-ip&gt;\r\nrepo1-host-user=postgres\r\n[demo]\r\npg1-path=\/var\/lib\/pgsql\/13\/data\/<\/pre>\n<p>The pgBackrest configuration to be made on the server to be backed up:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">$ vi \/etc\/pgbackrest.conf\r\n[global]\r\nrepo1-path=\/pg_backup\/pgbackrest\r\nrepo1-retention-full=2\r\nrepo1-retention-diff=2\r\nprocess-max=3\r\n[demo]\r\npg1-host=&lt;master-sunucu-ip&gt;\r\npg1-path=\/var\/lib\/pgsql\/13\/data\/\r\npg1-user=postgres<\/pre>\n<p>To take a backup with pgBackrest, we must first create the backup catalog. After creating, we check the correctness of the operation we have done.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">$ pgbackrest --stanza=demo --log-level-console=info stanza-create\r\n$ pgbackrest --stanza=demo --log-level-console=info check<\/pre>\n<p>After checking, we can get a full backup with the following command.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">$ pgbackrest --stanza=demo --log-level-console=info backup<\/pre>\n<h5>Differential backup:<\/h5>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">$ pgbackrest --stanza=demo --type=diff --log-level-console=info backup<\/pre>\n<h5>Incremental backup:<\/h5>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">$ pgbackrest --stanza=demo --type=incr --log-level-console=info backup<\/pre>\n<p>We can use the following command to get information about the previously taken backups.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">$ pgbackrest info<\/pre>\n<h5>Backup Restore<\/h5>\n<p>For full backup restore, we must first stop the postgresql service.
