{"id":38000,"date":"2022-04-08T11:52:19","date_gmt":"2022-04-08T11:52:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/?p=38000"},"modified":"2022-04-08T11:56:09","modified_gmt":"2022-04-08T11:56:09","slug":"docker-and-sql-server-2017-installation-on-windowsvm-in-azure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/index.php\/2022\/04\/08\/docker-and-sql-server-2017-installation-on-windowsvm-in-azure\/","title":{"rendered":"Docker and SQL Server 2017 Installation On WindowsVM In Azure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In today&#8217;s article, I will explain Docker and SQL Server 2017 Installation On WindowsVM In Azure.<\/p>\n<p>In my previous article, I told you how to install Docker and SQL Server 2017 on LinuxVM on Azure.<\/p>\n<p>This article, I will be telling you about the &#8220;Windows Server 2016 Datacenter &#8211; with Containers&#8221;, which we will install on Azure, and the installation of Docker and SQL Server 2017.<\/p>\n<p>1) We log in to the Microsoft Azure portal.<\/p>\n<p>2) By saying \u201cAdd\u201d from the Virtual Machines section, we search for \u201cSearch\u201d \u2192 Windows Server 2016 Datacenter \u2013 with Containers.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.caglarozenc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Resim-11.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.caglarozenc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Resim-21.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>3) We start the Virtual Machine installation. The installation steps are as follows.<\/p>\n<p>In the &#8220;Choose a size&#8221; section, I will be trying to choose a server with the features I chose on the Linux server so that we can easily do the Linux \/ Windows Test of Docker.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.caglarozenc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Resim-31.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the &#8220;Settings&#8221; section, I suggest you make the settings you want, especially in the Network Security section. I have defined HTTP \/ HTTPS \/ RDP \/ MSSQL Server privilege for our example.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.caglarozenc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Resim-41.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"tfmAxFu\">After the definitions, the summary information is as follows.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.caglarozenc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Resim-51.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now that the installation of our server is completed, we can connect to our server via RDP and perform the necessary operations.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.caglarozenc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Resim-61.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After performing the RDP process, we look at the docker version with powershell.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.caglarozenc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Resim-71.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As you can see, by installing &#8220;Windows Server 2016 Datacenter &#8211; with Containers&#8221;, we have the docker setup ready. What we will do now is to install SQL Server 2017. For this, we need to pull SQL Server 2017 first.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">docker pull microsoft\/mssql-server-windows-developer<\/pre>\n<p>After the pull process is complete, we can use the following code for installation<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">docker run -e ACCEPT_EULA=Y -e SA_PASSWORD=\u20196.rq=^DP;Jn;w%|FVEPZ\u2019 -p 1433:1433 \u2013name WinDockerSQL -d microsoft\/mssql-server-windows-developer<\/pre>\n<p>After the process is complete, we can use the docker ps command to control the container.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.caglarozenc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Resim-81.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"jgsCkea\">As you can see, we have completed the Docker installation on Windows and installed the SQL Server 2017 Developer edition. Now it&#8217;s time to connect to this sql server. For this;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.caglarozenc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Resim-91.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you want to connect with local IP, as a result you have a docker running on windows server. You need to use the inspect command to learn the details of the container. I am sharing the example below.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.caglarozenc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Resim-101.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"iPmPoQp\">If you want to search for any expression with the Inspect code, its usage is as follows.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">docker container inspect \u2013format \u2018{{.NetworkSettings.Networks.nat.IPAddress }}\u2019 WinDockerSQL<\/pre>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.caglarozenc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Resim-111.png\" width=\"914\" height=\"81\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As you can see, we have completed the Docker installation on Windows and installed the SQL Server 2017 Developer edition. Now it&#8217;s time to connect to this sql server. For this;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.caglarozenc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Resim-121.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We have also installed SQL Server 2017 Developer edition on a Docker on Windows.<\/p>\n<p>But the most important part here is to give a strong password for the SA password, otherwise you will not be able to connect to the sql server.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to see the container logs, you can access the logs if you type docker logs WinDockerSQL.<\/p>\n<p>(WinDockerSQL, you can write the name of the container we installed, as well as the container id information.
