{"id":38226,"date":"2022-04-09T12:34:43","date_gmt":"2022-04-09T12:34:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/?p=38226"},"modified":"2022-04-09T12:39:09","modified_gmt":"2022-04-09T12:39:09","slug":"oracle-business-process-management","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/index.php\/2022\/04\/09\/oracle-business-process-management\/","title":{"rendered":"Oracle Business Process Management"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In today&#8217;s article, we will talk about Oracle Business Process Management RCU installation.<\/p>\n<p>I prepared the installation on Oracle Linux 6.5 with RCU version 11.1.1.7.<\/p>\n<p>You can check the current versions via oracle and install them in the same directory.<\/p>\n<p>First of all, we create a folder named &#8220;OracleSetup&#8221; in the root directory of the Oracle Linux operating system that we have installed.<\/p>\n<p>Then we will throw all our installation files into this folder we created.<\/p>\n<p>I do folder creation and folder permissions with WinSCP for convenience.<\/p>\n<p>Create a folder \u201cOracleSetup\u201d on the Root Directory and upload your \u201cofm_rcu_linux_11.1.1.7.0_64_disk1_1of1\u201d folder here.<\/p>\n<p>Then, right-click on the &#8220;OracleSetup&#8221; folder, right-click properties, make the &#8220;Octate&#8221; field &#8220;7777&#8221;, mark &#8220;Group, owner and permissions apply to subfolder&#8221; and press the &#8220;OK&#8221; button, so we will give full access to OracleSetup and its subfolders.<\/p>\n<p>Before the Oracle BPM installation, we will use the tool we call &#8221; RCU &#8221; for the Repository Database.<\/p>\n<p>This tool will prepare the necessary pre-installations for BPM and the tables to be created in our database for us.<\/p>\n<p>First we will edit our \/etc\/hosts\/ file. We always use the DNS resolution facility in case the IP infrastructure changes in the future, so if one day the IP addresses change, it will be enough to edit the \/etc\/hosts file.<\/p>\n<p>Open terminal window with root user and run the following command.<\/p>\n<p>Edit the opened window according to the example below, save and exit.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \"># gedit \/etc\/hosts\r\n&lt;IP-address&gt; &lt;fully-qualified-machine-name&gt; &lt;machine-name&gt;\r\n192.168.1.1 db.bugraparlayan.com db.\r\n192.168.1.2 bpm.bugraparlayan.com bpm<\/pre>\n<p>Now that our host file editing, folder and file copying processes are finished, we can start the installation.<\/p>\n<p id=\"kccLhjP\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-38232 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_625177aa2be80.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"736\" height=\"494\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In order to avoid confusion in the installations and to save time, we will try to work from the visual interface in general.<\/p>\n<p>Desktop &gt; Filesystem &gt; OracleSetup &gt; ofm_rcu_linux_11.1.17\u2026. &gt; rcuHome &gt; Right click on the BIN folder and click \u201copen terminal\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In our terminal window that opens<\/p>\n<p>We start the pre-installation with the $ .\/rcu command.<\/p>\n<p id=\"EANlopT\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-38233 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_6251780fc691e.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"737\" height=\"552\" \/><\/p>\n<p>RCU ( Repository Creation Utility ) screen will welcome us. Continue by clicking the \u201cNEXT\u201d button.<\/p>\n<p id=\"PmIcNkS\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-38234 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_625178391ed43.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"751\" height=\"565\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Since we will create a Schema for the first time, we continue by clicking the \u201cNEXT\u201d button with \u201cCreate\u201d selected.<\/p>\n<p id=\"UPSlXHx\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-38235 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_6251785a4a855.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"754\" height=\"562\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On this screen, it asks us for connection information. We will enter our Hostname , Port , Service Name , SYS user and SYS password.<\/p>\n<p>Host Name : db.bugraparlayan.com (We give the database ip address directly to \/etc\/hosts as we resolve it to \/etc\/hosts. You can edit it according to the institution.)<\/p>\n<p>Port : 1521 (Oracle port is 1521 in standard installation.)<\/p>\n<p>Service Name : SHINING<\/p>\n<p>Username: SYS (must be a dba or sysdba user)<\/p>\n<p>Password : your password.<\/p>\n<p>At this point, you need to do it with SYS. SYSDBA comes directly to the role.<br \/>\nWe continue by filling in the empty fields as in the example below and clicking the \u201cNEXT\u201d button.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ryFoIlo\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"599\" class=\"size-full wp-image-38237 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_625178b838f49.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When you press the \u201cNEXT\u201d button, the RCU will perform an automatic check. If you get an error here, check the database settings, port and feature Service Name field.<\/p>\n<p>The RCU checked our system and did not encounter any glitches. Continue by clicking the \u201cOK\u201d button.<\/p>\n<p id=\"zEWJvVy\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"803\" height=\"597\" class=\"size-full wp-image-38238 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_625178e462c71.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In this area, we will do our operations before creating the schema and tables.<\/p>\n<p>We write \u201cBPM\u201d in the \u201cCreate a new Prefix\u201d section. In this way, our tables will be opened as &#8220;PBM_**&#8221; when opening and we will quickly understand which table is used for which operation while the database is running.<\/p>\n<p>As the second process, we will load the component. Here you click on \u201cSOA and Infrastructure\u201d. The RCU will automatically choose its own subpackages.<\/p>\n<p>We click on the \u201cNEXT\u201d button and continue.<\/p>\n<p>The RCU will do a check again, if there is a table with this name, it will warn us and ask us to change or edit the Prefix.<\/p>\n<p>In this process, we move to the next step by clicking the \u201cOK\u201d button.<\/p>\n<p id=\"JUdaJJL\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"601\" class=\"size-full wp-image-38239 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_62517930d3f22.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In this step, we set the password for the installations. Since I am a test environment, I will set my password as \u201cPassw0rd\u201d. You adjust it according to the institutional structure and procedures.<\/p>\n<p>If you enter your password in the &#8220;Use sam e passwords for all schemas&#8221; field (we recommend this), the RCU will automatically assign the same password for both schemas.<\/p>\n<p id=\"RbxFPMF\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-38240 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_6251799ade793.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"777\" height=\"582\" \/><\/p>\n<p>By making our final checks, we continue by clicking the \u201cNEXT\u201d button.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yGKDfor\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"599\" class=\"size-full wp-image-38241 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_625179c2cc935.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It gives us warning that the selected schemas have been created. Now we can move on to the BI setup.
