The error message is in the catalog views sys.sysmessages and sys.messages and there are values in the master.sys.sysusermsgs table.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mshowto.org\/images\/articles\/2019\/08\/resim-1.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The severity level tells us the type of problem. To help us understand what each of the severity level means<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">http:\/\/msdn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/library\/aa937483(SQL.80).aspx<\/pre>\n<p>Visit the address.<\/p>\n<p>A user can add custom error messages with severity 1-25 using the sp_addmessage stored procedure. The following query adds a custom message to the sys.messages catalog view.
