{"id":52304,"date":"2022-09-11T12:15:25","date_gmt":"2022-09-11T12:15:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/?p=52304"},"modified":"2022-09-11T12:21:40","modified_gmt":"2022-09-11T12:21:40","slug":"linux-ram-commands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/index.php\/2022\/09\/11\/linux-ram-commands\/","title":{"rendered":"Linux Ram Commands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today we will examine what operations we can perform on ram with Linux Ram Monitoring Commands.<\/p>\n<p>There may be times when an operating system administrator or a database administrator has a problem with ram or needs to gather information about ram.<\/p>\n<p>You may want to learn how much RAM is currently used, how much buffer cache is, and take actions regarding them.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, you can collect the necessary information for ram with the help of the following commands.<\/p>\n<p>First of all, you can get detailed information about ram with meminfo.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">cat \/proc\/meminfo\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>You can get information about ram usage with the free command, although it is less detailed than meminfo.<\/p>\n<p>You can find out the values in megabytes with the -m parameter, and the values in g and gb.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">free -m\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>You can get information about ram usage with vmstat command, although it is less detailed than meminfo.<\/p>\n<p>You can view other parameters by typing \u2013help instead of -s for use with different parameters.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">vmstat -s\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>You can collect very detailed information about ram with the dmidecode command.
