{"id":53432,"date":"2022-12-20T16:44:26","date_gmt":"2022-12-20T16:44:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/?p=53432"},"modified":"2022-12-20T16:48:48","modified_gmt":"2022-12-20T16:48:48","slug":"recover-drop-truncate-or-deleted-table-with-flashback","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/index.php\/2022\/12\/20\/recover-drop-truncate-or-deleted-table-with-flashback\/","title":{"rendered":"Recover Drop, Truncate Or Deleted Table With Flashback"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In this article, I will talk about how to recover accidentally drop, truncate or deleted table in Production database by using flashback in standby database.<\/p>\n<p>First of all, we enable the flashback mode of the standby database.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">SQL&gt; alter database flashback on;\r\n\r\nSQL&gt; select flashback_on from v$database;\r\n\r\nFLASHBACK_ON\r\n------------------\r\nYES<\/pre>\n<p>We stop the Apply process.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">SQL &gt; recover managed standby database cancel;\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>The restore point is created.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">SQL&gt; create restore point before_flashback guarantee flashback database;<\/pre>\n<p>Sending archives from the primary database to standby is stopped.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">SQL&gt; ALTER SYSTEM SET LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_STATE_2=DEFER;\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>Flashback returns the table before it was dropped, truncated or deleted.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">SQL &gt; shutdown immediate;\r\nSQL &gt; startup mount;\r\nSQL &gt; flashback database to timestamp to_date('01-NOV-2022\r\n12:05:00','DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS');<\/pre>\n<p>We open the standby database in read only mode.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">SQL&gt; alter database open read only;\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>After the database is opened in read-only mode, the table can be transferred to the Production environment with two methods.<\/p>\n<h4>1.Export \u2014 Import<\/h4>\n<p>We export the table.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">$ expdp melek\/&lt;password&gt;@orcl_stby directory=DUMP_DIR \r\ntables=HR.EMPLOYEES dumpfile=exp_Employees.dmp \r\nlogfile=exp_Employees.log<\/pre>\n<p>After copying the Dump file to the Production environment, we import the table.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">$ impdp melek\/&lt;password&gt;@orcl directory=DUMP_DIR \r\ndumpfile=exp_Employees.dmp logfile=imp_Employees.log<\/pre>\n<h4>2.
