Sequence is a tool created for self -increasing numbers according to the values given. MSSQL, Oracle and Postgresql databases are also used.<\/p>\n

Sequence cannot be used when the table is deleted.<\/p>\n

You can use the following command to create a sample sequence.<\/p>\n

CREATE SEQUENCE public.seqdeneme\r\n    INCREMENT 1\r\n    START 1\r\n    MINVALUE 1\r\n    MAXVALUE 5\r\n    CACHE 2\r\n    NO CYCLE ;<\/pre>\n
Let’s use Sequence in the table. Let’s create a two -column table called seqtable.<\/p>\n
create table seqtable (id integer ,name char(100))\r\n<\/pre>\n
We have created the table and now let’s insert data using Sequence.<\/p>\n
insert into seqtable values (nextval('seqdeneme'),'faruk')\r\n\r\ninsert into seqtable values (nextval('seqdeneme'),'erdem')<\/pre>\n
We inserted the data, but we used a different parameter here \u201cNextval\u201d This parameter gives the next value. Let’s see how it was inserted by pulling select from our inserted table.<\/p>\n

As seen above, we see that our data is inserted sequentially.<\/p>\n
You can see the next number to be added with the help of the following command.<\/p>\n
