It is used when the database cannot be closed with normal or transactional methods.<\/p>\n<p>2. The database is shut down abruptly.<\/p>\n<p>3. Executed transactions are terminated and cannot be rolled back.<\/p>\n<p>4. The database becomes inconsistent.<\/p>\n<p>5. While the database is opening, SMON is activated at the NOMOUNT step and the instance is recovered by reading the online redo log files.<\/p>\n<p>6. If the database cannot be closed with this method, the SMON process is killed and the database is closed.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">[root@DBONUR ~]# ps -ef | grep smon\r\n<\/pre>\n<p id=\"PIlEwQV\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"680\" height=\"86\" class=\"size-full wp-image-54313 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/img_642edc5bb5fdc.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>7. Command:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">SQL&gt; shutdown abort;\r\n<\/pre>\n<h3>Shutdown Normal:<\/h3>\n<p>1. It waits for the users connected to the database to finish their transactions and terminate their database sessions.<\/p>\n<p>2. For this reason, it is not preferred much.<\/p>\n<p>3. Command:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">SQL&gt; shutdown normal;\r\n<\/pre>\n<h3>Shutdown Immediate:<\/h3>\n<p>1. Transactions that have not been committed until that time are rolled back and the database is closed.<\/p>\n<p>2. Command:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">SQL&gt; shutdown immediate;\r\n<\/pre>\n<h3>Shutdown Transactional:<\/h3>\n<p>1. The database is shut down with zero data loss.<\/p>\n<p>2. The database will not be closed until the changes made by the users are guaranteed by commit.<\/p>\n<p>3.
