If we do not run it as an administrator, we will encounter an error message like the one below.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mshowto.org\/images\/articles\/2019\/06\/Resim-2.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"EFvVueb\">To run Powershell as an administrator, type powershell in the search field in Start, right-click and select run as administrator.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mshowto.org\/images\/articles\/2019\/06\/Resim-3.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"QwsnJGg\">Run the following command in powershell to install the DBATools module.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">Install-Module -Name DBATools<\/pre>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mshowto.org\/images\/articles\/2019\/06\/Resim-4.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As you can see in the picture above, it asks for permission to install (get DBATools&#8217; dependencies).<\/p>\n<p>Here you need to give permission with Y or A.<\/p>\n<p>After the approval process, the dbatools module will be installed within a while, depending on the speed of your internet connection.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mshowto.org\/images\/articles\/2019\/06\/Resim-5.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"UtOrttb\">If there is an existing DBATools version on your system, you can run the command below to upgrade the version.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">Install-Module -Name DBATools -Force<\/pre>\n<p>As a last step, for security reasons, Windows does not allow execution of PowerShell files downloaded from external sources or that are unreliable.<\/p>\n<p>To allow this, we need to run the following command.<\/p>\n<p>It will ask you for confirmation again.
