For example, we may want to do Shrink operation.<\/p>\n<p>However, in order to perform the shrink operation, the &#8220;SEGMENT SPACE MANAGEMENT&#8221; value of the table must be AUTO.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, the table can be moved to another tablespace whose &#8220;SEGMENT SPACE MANAGEMENT&#8221; value is AUTO.<\/p>\n<p>For example, in order to shrink a table, the steps to be done in the table are as follows.<\/p>\n<p>1. Row moving is activated in the table.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">SQL&gt; ALTER TABLE ACCOUNT ENABLE ROW MOVEMENT;\r\n\t\r\nTable altered.\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>2. Shrink is desired.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">SQL&gt; ALTER TABLE ACCOUNT SHRINK SPACE;\r\nALTER TABLE ACCOUNT SHRINK SPACE\r\n*\r\nERROR at line 1:\r\nORA-10635: Invalid segment or tablespace type<\/pre>\n<p>3. The &#8220;SEGMENT SPACE MANAGEMENT&#8221; value of the table is learned.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">SQL&gt; SELECT TBS.SEGMENT_SPACE_MANAGEMENT FROM DBA_TABLES T, DBA_TABLESPACES TBS WHERE T.TABLESPACE_NAME=TBS.TABLESPACE_NAME AND \r\nT.OWNER='SYS' AND T.TABLE_NAME='ACCOUNT';\r\n\t\r\nSEGMEN\r\n------\r\nMANUAL\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>4. Since it is manual, the table is moved to another tablespace.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">SQL&gt; ALTER TABLE ACCOUNT MOVE TABLESPACE USERS;\r\n\t\r\nTable altered.<\/pre>\n<p>5. The &#8220;SEGMENT SPACE MANAGEMENT&#8221; value is learned again.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \">SQL&gt; SELECT TBS.SEGMENT_SPACE_MANAGEMENT FROM DBA_TABLES T, DBA_TABLESPACES TBS WHERE T.TABLESPACE_NAME=TBS.TABLESPACE_NAME AND \r\nT.OWNER='SYS' AND T.TABLE_NAME='ACCOUNT';\r\n\t\r\nSEGMEN\r\n------\r\nAUTO\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>6.
