When connecting to SQL Server, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. EXPLANATION:<\/h3>\n

When connecting to a SQL Server Instance, you will see this error if you have used an incorrect Instance name.<\/p>\n

SOLUTION:<\/h3>\n

If SQL Server Instance is a Named Instance, then you should use the following format as the Instance name:<\/p>\n

Example:<\/strong><\/p>\n

EKREM-PC\\DeveloperEdition<\/p>\n

According to the example above, “EKREM-PC” is the name of my computer. “DeveloperEdition” is the name of my instance that I gave it when setting up SQL Server Instance.<\/p>\n

If SQL Server Instance is a Default Instance, then you should use the following format as your Instance name:<\/p>\n

EKREM-PC<\/p>\n

According to the example above, “EKREM-PC” is the name of my computer.<\/p>\n

If you select “Default Instance” in the window of the Instance name in the SQL Server installation, the name of your SQL Server Instance only consists of the computer name.<\/p>\n\n
