In this article I will describe the process of running a sql server job. I will share links to articles of other processes that can be done using the Maintenance Plan at the end of the article.<\/p>\n<p>From the Management tab under SSMS, we select Maintenance Plans and Maintenance Plan Wizard as shown below.<\/p>\n<p id=\"gZsIDqU\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-7555  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/img_5c385414b369e.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"414\" height=\"86\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On the next screen, select &#8220;Do not show this starting page again&#8221; as follows and click Next.<\/p>\n<p id=\"qKJWraS\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-7557  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/img_5c38544d9b96b.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"546\" height=\"482\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We give a name to the Maintenance Plan from the Name section as follows on the incoming screen.\u00a0 I named ExecuteJob.<\/p>\n<p id=\"APCBaPt\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-7559  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/img_5c385472cddc3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"537\" height=\"474\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then click Change in the Schedule section. A screen appears as follows.<\/p>\n<p>From Occurs you can choose Daily, Weekly or Monthly.<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Select Daily if you want this maintenance plan to run daily<\/li>\n<li>Select Weekly if you want this maintenance plan to run weekly<\/li>\n<li>Select Monthly if you want this maintenance plan to run monthly<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the Schedule section, we click on Change to set it to run once every week on Sunday at 00:00.<\/p>\n<p id=\"XnNkLho\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-7561  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/img_5c38549814f9d.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"553\" height=\"465\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On the next screen, we select Execute SQL Server Agent Job as follows and click next.<\/p>\n<p id=\"RcLvXVl\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-7563  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/img_5c3854bc1257a.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"603\" height=\"526\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When we get on the screen below, we select the jobs we want to run.<\/p>\n<p id=\"MnYaPYc\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-7565  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/img_5c3854db325be.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"569\" height=\"501\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the next screen, if you select &#8220;Write a report to a text file&#8221; as below, it will create a report in the folder you selected in Folder location.<\/p>\n<p>If you select the E-mail report option, it will send the reports to the e-mail address you specified in the To: section.<\/p>\n<p>Since I have no operator defined on my server, I got an error like the following.<\/p>\n<p>There are no operators defined on the system.<\/p>\n<p>You may want to read my article &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/index.php\/2018\/07\/08\/how-to-create-an-operator-on-sql-server\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How To Create An Operator On SQL Server<\/a>&#8221; to get detailed information about the operator.
