The difference is that while WHERE Clause is filtering on ungrouped data, HAVING Clause filters on grouped data. I recommend you read the following article about Group By.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/index.php\/2019\/01\/06\/group-by-clause-sum-max-min-avg-count-and-count_big-functions-in-sql-server-tsql\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Group By Clause, SUM, MAX, MIN, AVG, COUNT and COUNT_BIG Functions in SQL Server<\/a>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s remember the example in the article about Group By.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Example:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>First, we create a table with the help of the following script and add a few records into this table.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true\">USE [TestDB]\nGO\nCREATE TABLE [dbo].[ProductTable](\n[ID] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL,\n[ProductName] [varchar](250) NOT NULL,\n[ProductPrice] [int] NOT NULL\n) ON [PRIMARY]\nGO\nINSERT INTO [dbo].[ProductTable] VALUES ('Television',3400),\n('Television',4300),('Phone',6700),('Phone',9800)<\/pre>\n<h3>Group By Clause:<\/h3>\n<p>We group the data by ProductName and calculate the total price of the products in the same group with the following query.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true\">SELECT [ProductName],SUM(ProductPrice) FROM [dbo].[ProductTable]\nGROUP BY [ProductName]<\/pre>\n<p id=\"nJIvixj\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-8315  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/img_5c4448f72185d.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"612\" height=\"173\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>HAVING Clause:<\/h3>\n<p>By filtering the above query with HAVING Clause, we return the groups with the SUM (ProductPrice) value below than 10000 as a result.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true\">SELECT [ProductName],SUM(ProductPrice) FROM [dbo].[ProductTable]\nGROUP BY [ProductName]\nHAVING SUM(ProductPrice)&lt;10000<\/pre>\n<p id=\"PXKGRrn\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-8317  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/img_5c4449235a11a.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"621\" height=\"213\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Using the HAVING Clause as in the example above, we can filter out groups that are grouped by GROUP By.<\/p>\n<h3>WHERE Clause and HAVING Clause in same SQL Statement:<\/h3>\n<p>We can use WHERE Clause and HAVING Clause in the same SQL Statement. The following example first reads data from the records in the table that has a ProductPrice value below 6800. This result set is then grouped according to ProductName.
