A friend of mine said that when he received this error, the database files were deleted. They solved the problem by returning from Backup.<\/p>\n<p>In some cases (uncontrolled server restart, etc.), the Always On Avilability Group Secondary database falls into Initializing\/Recovery Pending mode.<\/p>\n<p>In this case, sometimes, getting the Secondary database to Suspend mode through the Availability Group and then Resume resolves the problem.<\/p>\n<p>Well, that didn&#8217;t solve the problem.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Getting the Secondary Database to Suspend Mode via script:<\/strong><\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true\">ALTER DATABASE [databasename] SET HADR SUSPEND;\r\nGO<\/pre>\n<p id=\"fMVUssq\">\n<p id=\"HYgHTMt\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-9028  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/img_5c53e5a1864da.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"251\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Getting the Secondary Database to Suspend Mode via SSMS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Right Click on database on the Availability Databases section, then click Suspend Data Movement.<\/p>\n<p id=\"FNmsaeu\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"505\" height=\"146\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9030  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/img_5c53e5e0017a0.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Because the problem is not solved in this way, right-click on the secondary database in the Availability Databases tab and click &#8220;Remove Secondary Database&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p id=\"OBcszsM\">\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"525\" height=\"171\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9032  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/img_5c53e5f917d7e.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This process can keep you waiting a bit. Because, the database falls to Initializing\/Recovery Pending because of a problem in the structure of the secondary database. And it needs a time to recover.<\/p>\n<p>If you look at SQL Server Log, you can monitor the process. This period will vary according to the size of the database. I waited 7 hours for a database of 6 TB. There is no interruption in the application because it is a secondary database.<\/p>\n<p id=\"cHQurVY\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-9034  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/img_5c53e65cbc012.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"783\" height=\"74\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After the recover process is complete, you will see that the problematic database has an exclamation mark on it. Right click on this database and click &#8220;Join to Availability Group&#8221;. After a while, you will see that the status of the secondary database is synchronized again and the problem is corrected.<\/p>\n<p id=\"OtGncOY\">\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"398\" height=\"134\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9036  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/img_5c53e97306d44.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you took a log backup from the primary database after this problem, you may encounter an error like below during the join operation.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>The mirror database,&#8221;xxx&#8221;, has insufficient transaction log data to preserver the log backup chain of the principal database. This may happen if a log backup principal database has not been taken or has not been restored on the mirror database.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"dzhKSYE\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-9038  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/img_5c53eb1830e1a.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"714\" height=\"302\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You must restore log backup that taken from the primary database, to the secondary database and try the same operation again.
