The synonym can be created for following objects.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Table<\/li>\n<li>View<\/li>\n<li>Stored Procedure<\/li>\n<li>Function<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After creating Synonym, you can access the original object via synonym.<\/p>\n<h3>So why do we need synonym?<\/h3>\n<p>Consider that there are many different code written in the form of Server1.Database.Schema.Table to access a table in the application.<\/p>\n<p>If you move the database from Server1 to Server2 or move the table to another schema, this code block will not work.<\/p>\n<p>If schemas or servers of objects(such as Table, View, Stored Procedure, and Function) change, you can only resolve the problem without modifying the code by deleting synonym and recreating it in the same name to point to the new location of the table.<\/p>\n<h3>Create Synonym:<\/h3>\n<p>Right click on Synonyms under the database and click New Synonym&#8230;<\/p>\n<p id=\"LBUGvLu\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"496\" height=\"211\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9719  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dbtut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/img_5c6f98173f495.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We then make the necessary choices as in the following table:<\/p>\n<div style=\"direction: ltr;\">\n<table class=\"alignleft\" style=\"height: 392px;\" border=\"1\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr style=\"height: 56px;\">\n<td style=\"height: 56px;
