Clear The Redo Log Group

In today’s article we will be learning to Clear The Redo Log Group.

We can clear the redo log group with the following sql statement:

SQL> alter database clear logfile group 2;

Database altered.

SQL> alter database clear logfile group 2;

Database altered.

Condition after cleaning:

	SQL> select group#, status from v$log;
	
	    GROUP# STATUS
	---------- ----------------
	         1 CURRENT
	         2 UNUSED
	         3 ACTIVE

SQL> select group#, status from v$log;

GROUP# STATUS

---------- ----------------

1 CURRENT

2 UNUSED

3 ACTIVE
