ERROR MESSAGE:

“The report server has encountered a configuration error. Access denied to the path ‘c:\program files\microsoft sql server\mssql.3\reporting services\reportserver\rsreportserver.config’ is denied.”

EXPLANATION:

After you install SQL Server 2005, you may receive this error when you try to open Report Manager.

SOLUTION:

You need to grant read permission on the “rsreportserver.config” file for the ASNET account.
